This iteration of Megaera is from the Supergiant Games
Let's bullet-point this for convenience:
- Megaera was charged by Hades, Lord of the Underworld, to prevent his arrogant, complicated, adolescent son, Prince Zagreus, from escaping the Underworld. By killing him. But he doesn't really die. Because you're already dead in the Underworld. You just kind of come back and get killed again over and over and over. Well. You do if you're Zagman.
- Zagreus and Megaera have a history. (I won't go much further than that to prevent spoilers.) This makes it difficult for Megaera to sometimes do her job. Hades reprimands her for her poor work performance and no one is surprised.
- Nyx is Megaera's 'surrogate' mother. (The Furies don't technically have parents.) In-game dialogue states that Megaera and Thanatos have known each other longer than Zagreus has been alive, so it's very likely that all three of them grew up together.
- Megaera is relatively well-known (as one of the Erinyes) in the House of Hades and throughout his realm or has at least some kind of relationship with the others unfortunately bound to Hades' servitude. She has a positive relationship with Nyx and it's feasible she goes to her for when she needs reassurance or encouragement. Hypnos once implied he was asking her out on a date. (And then later stated that he felt his expectations of her battle prowess against Zagreus were dashed due to outcomes.) Dusa seems to admire her. What is her relationship like with Thanatos...? They seem close. (Actually, something-something-something about him giving her assignments...)Insert spoilers here.
- She has two sisters—Alecto and Tisiphone. They're not allowed in the house because they're rabid animals unlike Meg. She doesn't seem to have a good relationship with them, but when Extreme Measures get put into play, Meg doesn't exactly get a choice. It's like forced family counselling. As things continue on, however, even Hades states that Meg is a professional and will do as she needs to. Meg might actually like her sisters more than she lets on. Even when one can't say Zagreus's name properly (well, she tried) and when the other likes to poke fun at her relationship with the [Insert Descriptor Here] Prince.
- Just assume that everyone in the HADES verse is actually dysfunctional and no one knows how to communicate in a healthy manner that doesn't involve violently penetrating someone else. (Not like that. WELL. MAYBE. Pass out those ambrosias first.)
Out of character-wise...
- I'm pretty up-to-date on HADES story narrative and I'm, at this moment, caught up with everything that can largely be done.I intend to stay on top of this as we get updates.(No more updates because the game's not in early access anymore.) But because spoilers might be involved, I'll try my best to be vague.
- By default, I'm not actually playing Meg with any... for lack of better phrasing, relationship in mind, aside from the past implications of her history with Zagreus. But I'm open to it!I am also not against OT3.
- That's it. I'm just here for fun.
